Raised on the West Side of Detroit, Mike’s journey into DJing began at just 13, ignited by the city’s electrifying sounds. By the 1980s, his relentless dedication and competitive spirit had propelled him into Detroit’s club scene, where he mastered his craft at dance clubs, backyard parties, and turntablist showcases.

As a member of the iconic Direct Drive DJ Collective, Mike drew inspiration from trailblazers like Ken Collier, Tony Humphries, and Larry Levan, cementing his role in shaping Detroit techno’s foundations. His passion for music led him to collaborate with legends, including forming an Underground Resistance alias and working with Carl Craig’s Planet E label. His breakout EP, In the Morning, catapulted him onto the global stage.
