Mike Agent X Clark & Paul Hill: A Collaboration Rooted in Detroit’s Soulful Legacy

If you know Detroit, you know Funk and Soul, House and Techno. And if you know that music, you know the names Mike Agent X Clark and Paul Hill. Mike is a true ambassador of Detroit’s underground music scene, with roots stretching back to the 1980s. His journey is intertwined with legends like The Electrifying Mojo and Underground Resistance. Meanwhile, Paul Hill brings the pure essence of Parliament-Funkadelic, alongside collaborations with Moodymann’s Mahogani Music and beyond.

We’re thrilled to present “Where You Get Your Funk From?”, a track by Mike Agent X Clark, featured on the EFUNK Detroit Volume III compilation. This record made waves during our 10-year anniversary celebration at TV Lounge for the House of EFUNK afterparty during Movement Festival weekend. That night, magic happened. Mike was DJing, Paul jumped on the mic, and together they performed “I Don’t Know Why.” The crowd erupted—it was electric. From that moment, we knew we had something special.

This release showcases the perfect fusion of Paul’s timeless Motown soul vocals and Mike’s masterful house production.

6 Mile West Side Mix: A soulful house version enriched with warm keyboards, lush string arrangements, and a symphony of soul claps.
Oliver Dollar Remix: Stripped-back and groove-driven, Oliver brings Paul’s vocal hook to the forefront, complementing it with moody chord progressions and a driving four-on-the-floor beat.
Paul Hill’s Version: A spotlight on Paul’s signature vocal style—raw, powerful, and unforgettable.
This collaboration captures the essence of Detroit’s music legacy while delivering fresh energy to dance floors worldwide. We’re proud to share this moment with you.
